Creating A Funny Father Of The Bride Speech
As the father of the bride, to be assigned to deliver a speech at your daughter’s wedding day is a very great honor, and as the father you also have the obligation to make a speech that will become memorable and everlasting. A wedding speech doesn’t always need to be serious and formal, and on this special occasion why don’t you try to make a funny speech instead?
I know that not everyone can tell a good jokes or has the talent to be funny, I knew a guy who actually tells a good jokes but no one is laughing, but wit a little bit of practice I’m sure that you can get the hang of it, just be yourself and you will be okay.
Now if you want to add some jokes in your wedding speech, here are some of the things you can focus on to tell your jokes.
You can have some jokes about your family, anything funny that happens during the wedding preparation, all the problems that had occurred during the wedding preparation, tell the audience about the mess, the chaos, the tight schedule, etc.
You can also have some jokes about the bride. It’s not like you’re trying to make a fun of your daughter, just tell jokes about several funny incidents from her childhood or later in her life, or the day when she introduced you to her man, the excitement when she told you that she has been proposed and wanted to get married, you can also ask your wife to help you remember some of the events.
You can also tell jokes about the groom, like how he proposed her, or the groom’s reaction when he first met you, how he asked your permission to marry your daughter.
There are a lot of things you can come up with just by focusing on these three subjects, but remember to always share your jokes first with other people so you know what other people think about it, how they intrepid your jokes because the last thing you want is a someone get offended by one of your jokes.
Don’t forget about timing, you should keep your wedding speech short and simple, that’s way you need to have a lot of practice before the wedding day to get the timing right and don’t get carried away and tell only jokes in your wedding speech, put some serious fatherly advices also in the end of your speech and show them just how much you loved them and proud of being where you are that day.
